The fighting between English and Russian fans after the 1-1 draw after full time is disgraceful. There had been pockets of arguments and fights in the two days leading to the game today, but nothing as full scale as what took place after the game.
Some observers in the city of Nice say they noticed a group of Russians looking for fights. Many visitors and fans arriving in the city, had been drinking heavily from the night before, with some heard speaking disparagingly about fans from rival European teams.
Hotels surrounding the areas near where the matches take place are fully booked, even as far as three miles from the venue. Football fans in hotel bars and neighbouring bars had already been speculating on the results of various matches in advance
A source also told theeyeofmedia.com that speculations regarding the coming E.U referendum has also formed part of some of the drunk discussions of many of the fans in attendance, inflamming some of the heated discussions
