Sacked top gear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson has escaped legal punishment for his attack
on Producer Mr. Tymon, after the latter decided he was not going to press charges.
North Yorkshire police issued a statement saying “North Yorkshire Police has now completed its routine enquiries following the incident at Hawes involving Mr Jeremy Clarkson.
Last week… Mr Tymon said he did not wish the police to take action on his behalf. However, at that point we still needed to speak to some members of the public who were present at the time of the incident, who had been affected
by the event, and whose views also needed to be considered.
Now that all the interviews are complete, we have properly established that there is no need for further police
action.”
It is fair to say that the top gear presenter was saved simply because his victim does not wish to annoy Clarkson’s fans. After over one million petitions made by emotionally fragile fans to allow a violent man keep his job, it will be no surprise if the producer may have found Clarkson’s public support a bit intimidating. The average ordinary man in his work place would have been arrested and charged if he had committed the same offence as Clarkson. The victim would have certainly pressed charges. It would indeed have been sad if Clarkson had been forced to face police charges and ended up in jail because he brought joy to the hearts of all his fans. However, fame bought him freedom and that’s what it all boiled down to. Put Jack the lad in Clarkson’s shoes and he would have been charged by now.
Clarkson and his co-presenters are to feature in a show billed as Clarkson, Hammond and May later this year. The show which was schedulled before Clarkson was dropped will be stripped of all BBC branding.
