HE — — USES IT 39 TIMES

We thought Madonna’s spectacular stage tumble was the main event of Wednesday’s BRIT Awards but it seems Kanye West’s performance of his brand new single, All Day, was in fact the most controversial performance that dominated the epic event in the arena that is the 02.
Prior to Kanye’s flame throwing show, he had reportedly kept the new song so elusive that only his close friends and tight inner-circle were allowed to peep the direct rehearsals. No wonder it was such an offensive disaster without the professional insight of the masses.
Lionel Richie, recent front man to the Commodores and father to Nicole Ritchie was seen glaring at the stage with a confused and utterly shell shocked expression as he tried to somehow make sense of the rappers performance. Whilst blonde bob rocking Taylor Swift was staring with her mouth wide open at the scenes before her, we were not fully aware as to the lyrics as ITV did an awful job of bleeping out almost 70% of the entire thing but with the lens in clear focus on her gob we got a little idea as to the explicitness.
After the shock sunk it, Miss Swift got back into her usual award show behavioral antics, she was seen flicking her hair about with her hands in the air, dancing away to the track on a slightly different bpm compared to Kanye’s voluptuous wife who was stood right next to her.

THE N-BOMB SHOCKER:

The controversial jam features the pre slave hierarchy word 39 times, which is more than enough to cause a stir on what is meant to be a “child friendly” Award event. The “All Day” lyrics include: ‘Ye in the building like a hallway, n****, Big in the game like an arcade, n****, I jump in the whip, Audi R8, n****, Still got the 100 with the small face, n****’.
It seems as though the N word has become second nature to black people over the past 20 years. A word that was once so highly offensive to a fellow is now idolized and repeated not only with in the music industry but also on a daily basis as a formal introduction, replacing the word Brother is the most common interpretation. Rappers have over the years perpetuated the ignorance of a lot of black youths who fail to recognize that the derogatory word can never take on a new meaning whilst it s original meaning still exists and is used in a racist context by racist people. The rapper’s repeated use of the cringe worthy N-word during his expletive performance at the O2 was highly offensive. The “Through the wire” mogul offended the 65 year old musician, Lionel Richie.
“The All Night Long” singer said: ‘Am I fan of the N-word? Not coming from the 1960s and ’70s. Whereas the new world seems to have embraced it”. Twitter near enough crashed with hundreds and thousands of tweets during the “So called Geniuses” parade, one simply said: ‘Kanye West is atrocious’. Whilst several ITV viewers tapped “Why mute Kanye’s performance, it’s so stupid!”, “What am I witnessing? Get him off”, “This performance is uber heavy, let us watch it all ITV. You’ve ruined it for everyone, your muting sucks!”
Even Annie Mac the Irish DJ and television presenter chirped: ‘That Kanye performance is the most powerful and impactful thing I have ever seen at the BRITS. Would have liked a 16 from Skepta though.’

ITV FAILURE AT MUTING:

Whilst the audience at London’s 02 arena were able to take in Kanye’s full performance, viewers at home were unfortunately unable to hear 80% of the track as ITV attempted to continuously mute the tender explicit lyrics.
An ITV spokesperson shared ‘ITV took the decision to use an audio mute during the performance. The Brits is broadcast live on ITV from 8pm to a wide audience, we must remain within the guidelines”

Most, if not all live shows do work this way by enforcing a delayed reaction to the live airings. If a show airs at 8pm then it will normally have started two minutes prior until it reaches us directly, giving the technically crew time to mute any fowl and offensive errors that may occur. Having a 2 minute gap is like having a safety net but as we witnessed during the Brits that they are not always on the money with being precise. During their attempts to dull our ears one of the unknown rappers was heard saying “s***” on numerous occasions. Despite their constant efforts ITV continuously failed on several occasions to keep the N-Word at bay, as it managed to slip through a handful of times during the lengthy and frustrating muting’s.
‘We have operated a short time delay as standard practice for some years on the show, to allow us to mute language that may be inappropriate for that wide audience, and elected to do so in this case, given the performance took place shortly after the 9pm watershed.’
Did Kanye spit so vocal on purpose? Like they say in the industry, no news is bad news. As long as we are talking about you then you are doing something right. He has been more or less invisible since his marriage to Kim Kardashian this year and the birth of his Daughter North last year. It could be that the egotistical star is lacking attention from his single days, leaving us waiting for his single for a very long time. The beat is to say the least “Hard” but is there any need for the explicit?? I think not. You say you are a genius Kanye? Can you not express your message through a more intellectual base of literature? Although I reckon he could argue this case here as the highly discriminative word does in fact translate to King from certain ancient dialects. Why not use the term King though? Isn’t it time we all stopped using a word with such extremely bad connotations. I say we scrap the tasteless word and replace it with King if we wish to be so correct from now on and avoid any future discrepancies’.
