Controversial rapper, Kanye West will perform at Glastonbury Festival this Saturday, despite over 100,000 petitions for him not to be allowed to perform at the annual festival. After West was booked to perform at the prestigious festival, his inclusion was loathed by many of those who felt the festival should maintain the historical roots of the festival which they believed should exclude rappers. However, the organizers insisted that the public should be proud to have him included in the line up of performers for the event. West had already upset several ITV viewers after he swore repeatedly on the Brit awards when performing his act. It will be interesting to see how the rapper is received. His celebrity wife, Kim Khadashian, has recently undergone an IVP gender selection process to determine the gender of their second baby after Kanye and her took their first child to Jerusalem earlier this year for baptism.
Music fans have already begun camping there after the gates were opened for the event. Live music and films have already been set up to entertain early arriving fans ahead of the highly anticipated festival. Kanye West does not perform until Saturday, and there are wide speculations as to whether he will be booed off stage this weekend. West is one of the richest and most successful rappers in America today, and whilst he has many fans, there are simply many who would rather they never had to hear from him again. Unfortunately for those, he will be on show for the widely attended event this weekend. Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has revealed that she received death threats over her decision to include the rapper, but stands by her judgement that his presence will be good for the 130,000 ticket holders for the event. Well acclaimed rapper, Jay z, faced similar controversy when he was announced as a headliner in 2008, but the event turned out to be a huge success. In only a matter of few days we shall find out if Kanye West’s inclusion in the line up will pass the test or not
