A murder inquiry has been launched after a woman in East Dunbartonshire was found stabbed to death.
The body of the 33-year-old was found in the backyard of a property in the Waterside area of Kirkintiloch on Wednesday. Her body was found by a nurse. The Eye Of Media.Com has heard from some anonymous sources that there is suspicion she was killed by a man, but that’s for the police to identify and prove.
A neighbour told reporters the woman’s daughter had been sitting crying on the pavement outside the house on Wednesday, saying that she thought her mother was dead. A police spokesman said a post-mortem examination would be carried out.
“However, enquiries carried out by officers indicate that the woman’s death is suspicious and a murder inquiry has been launched,” he said.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal and enquiries are ongoing”.
There have been a number of murder cases in the past in which men have killed their partners over domestic incidents like jealousy or money. In some cases, both elements are involved. Other times, ex-boyfriends have visited their partners and killed them over a love rival, or just sheer bitterness over a past rejection from the women.
Police will be pursuing various lines of inquiry to solve this callous murder which has rocked the community of Kirkintiloch.
