The Leicester blessing that won them the premiership title is being attributed to the blessing of a monk. Leicester won the title yesterday after Tottenham held Chelsea to a draw, fulfilling expectations of a late to defy the very low 5000-1 odds they were given of winning at the start of the competition.
Now, a Buddhist temple in the Chinatown area of Bangkok ha been turned into a venerated site for Leicester City fans in Thailand. All because of a prediction from a chief monk of the temple a few months back that the unlikely Leicester City club would win the English premiership league title. True enough, the prediction came to pass, though this is no evidence of any special predictive powers on the part of the monk. Before predictive powers can be legitimately ascribed to any individuals it must be seen to occur pretty often and consistently. The Monk will need to successfully repeat such prediction before he can be legitimately awarded with the credibility of predictive ability.
However, the power of collective belief is a known force in the universe. Such strong inner belief can bring the best out of people or a group but does not even guarantee success. It increases the chances of success when an individual or group devote their minds and belief system to a given course. Leicester did that consistently and it has paid off.
They showed true team spirit and determination through out their premiership campaign and have done what they were least expected to do- win the premiership. It shows how the power of belief and dedication can take anybody or group to a most unlikely destination of success. This was a feat worthy of every celebration possible, and it remains to be sen if they can sustain their commendable triumph and performance in the future. We congratulate Leicester City on the premiership victory.
