Oxford University has finally released footage of Kanye West’s visit to the nations premiere University back in March of this year. The controversial rapper was invited, not for the power of his intellect in my opinion, but rather because of his music status. He received a standing ovation s he was introduced to the podium and had a lot to say about a lot of things.
”Everyone please be quiet, because I can literally hear a whisper, and it will throw me off. When I get my stream of consciousness that’s when I give the illest quotes. Literally, a whisper can throw me off”.
If there was any confirmation of a man with a big ego, here it is right here. The man well known for expletives even was honest enough to tell his intellectual audience ” one of my biggest problems, one of my achillles heels has been my ego. And if I, Kanye West, the very person, can remove my ego, I think there is hope for everyone.
He tells his audience he doesn’t know the days of the week, before ungrammatically adding ”I just go to exactly when my appointment is, we’d just look at each other and say, it is still February.
About his reputation, he says”people say I have a bad reputation. I think I have the best reputation in the building. Because they want you to have a reputation of tucking your black nail polish in your pockets and sitting in the corner of your class and liking not fighting for your ideas out of fear of being embarrassed, being talked about the next day, not being accepted, being on the outside. Being crazy. That’s another one of my favourite ones, to be called crazy.
One can’t help wonder whose idea it was to invite West to this prestigious University. How arrogant it is to claim to have the best reputation among Oxford University students and staff. What a interesting and crazy character he is.
