Celebrities Kim Kardashian Rap artist, Kanye West arrived in Jerusalem today with his wife Kim Kardashian to baptize their 22-month-old daughter, North West, at the Saint James Cathedral in Jerusalem Monday in a 30 minute ceremony. An organizer of the celebrity confirmed to eye of media that ”Kanye West will be holding a ceremony today to Baptize his daughter at the St. James Cathedral in around 4pm today.The rapper who once declared on stage that he had ‘sold his soul to the devil’ is known for his almost endless spree of expletives during his concerts. He enraged viewers during the Brit Awards this year when he failed to curb his use of the ‘n’ word live on stage, prompting several complaints to ITV for the shameful use of the word. Kanye’s music is typically characterized by swear words which has for years been a regular feature of artists in their bid to appeal to youngsters world wide. His baptism of his daughter is a far cry from the life the artist leads in religious terms, but perhaps a reflection of his desire to give his daughter a religious identity from birth. She will clearly have to make her own choice when she grows up. It is the first time the rapper has visited the middle east, and his tour began with a trip to Armenia to honour the 100 year anniversary of the Armenian genocide.The family landed in Israel early today and leave tomorrow morning for Jordan.
Controversial West only yesterday jumped into a lake of water during a free gig in Yerevan during a performance of ‘good life’ causing hard core fans to follow the rapper’s lead into a lake with many taking selfies in there. Security allocated to the gig followed the American straight into the Lake to rescue him and police stopped the gig immediately. The concert included some of West’s hits such as ‘stronger’ ‘Jesus Walks’ ‘power’ and touch the sky’. The rapper clearly has some religious convictions which may explain his decision to baptize his daughter, but here is one prime example of an artist who professes a belief in one thing, but leads a totally different life altogether.
