X factor bosses have yesterday revealed that Monica Michael has been given the wild card life line this year, eye of media has learnt. She’ll now re-join the girls’ category mentored by Rita Ora.
Judges, Simon Cowell, Nick Grimshaw, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini jointly agreed to bring back the hot singer whose dreams were in tartars after last Sunday’s show. The prospective singing star had already kissed her chances on the popular singing show goodbye, when the judges collectively decided to bring her back. She will rejoin the girls category mentored by high flying Judge, Rita Ora.
The show, now in its eleventh year of production, is well known for breaking the hearts of singing aspirants only to sometimes reverse the decision following a change of heart from the judges, sometimes unfairly influenced by the crowd. X factor judges have been criticized for sometimes fluctuating in their judgement of which contestants to keep- an especially distasteful affair whenever contestants who have been thrown out are brought back to displace those who were previously thought to have secured a chair.
Last week, Rita Ora elected to keep Louisa Johnson, Lauren Murray and Keira Weathers, but has somehow conspired with the other judges to bring back Monica, much to her delight. The unpredictability of the selection process gives quite a bit of flavor to the show, but raises questions about the fairness and consistency of the judging process. Considering the extent to which contestants invest their hopes in this well watched show, the least the judges can do is appear impartial. They so far seem to be struggling to do this, But have managed to keep both excitement and viewing figures high.
