The single, titled Drag Me Down, premiered on iTunes and Spotify early this morning. It makes one wonder whether a dispute surrounding the single had anything to do with Malik’s decision to go single, or whether the single was done in secret without his knowledge.

Band member Niall Horan tweeted: “Finally we get to say this! Have waited a long time but our new single Drag Me Down is out!!”
Louis Tomlinson also took to social media, saying, “We wanted you guys to have our new single first so here it is!”
