Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has once again shattered the record books. The Swedish pole vaulter set a new world record on his way to winning a third consecutive world title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Duplantis, 25, delighted the crowd by clearing an astonishing 6.30m. This new Duplantis world record marks the 14th time he has beaten his own record. He has now lifted the world record from 6.16m to its current height.

The incredible performance took place on his third and final attempt. Duplantis said afterward that he felt the only way to leave Japan was to set the world record. He expressed gratitude for the loud support of the crowd. He has now won 36 consecutive finals. The new feat further solidifies his status as the greatest pole vaulter of all time. He has dominated the event for the last six years, consistently improving his benchmark by one centimeter at a time.
