OVER 30 KILLED AND 80 INJURED IN TERRORIST BOMB BLAST IN NIGERIA

32 people were killed and 80 others injured when a bomb blast went off in the North East of Nigeria – the city of Yola on Tuesday evening. The explosion ripped through the crowded Tipper Garage in the Jambutu area of the city at around 7:48 p.m. local time (1:48 PM ET), ‎not long after evening prayers had concluded according to sources who spoke to The eye of media.

The area where the explosion took place accommodates a livestock market, an open-air restaurant and a mosque. The explosion happened as traders were leaving the mosque and others were eating at the restaurant.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari visited Yola just five days ago to present medals to soldiers fighting Boko Haram militants, as well as a camp for people displaced by the conflict.

Yola, which is seated in the north Eastern state of Adamawa has been hit twice by fatal bombs in the last year alone and has fallen victim to attacks by the Boko Haram military insurgence. Many are hanging on to life in hospital according to sources that have spoken to eye of media, in what is turning to a spate of bloody attacks that is sure to cause widespread fear among the people. Religion has always been a strong issue of division in Nigeria which is predominantly Muslim in the north and more Christian in the South. However the latest attack is likely to be seen as an opportunity by extremists there to consolidate the impact of the attack in France last weekend and try and gain some psychological sense of victory in this never seeming ending global war that should not even exist in a world where intelligent and reasonable beings reside.
