Just before before the film’s public release 2 months ago, Russell pulled his support for the movie because he didn’t like how the final edit portrayed him.
According to the director, who was also a friend, of the outspoken comedian, he became a control freak when she refused to remove a number of scenes from the documentary.
The actor-turned-activist who was involved in the November 5th anonymous march in London, demanded she edit out footage of him being arrested while high on drugs and naked at a protest, as well as him discussing torturing a family dog.
But the director refused and insisted on reflecting the full picture to the public. There had previously been five other directors that had been appointed for the job but had eventually been refused
