A man was jailed yesterday for permitting his St Helen’s home to be used as a Cannabis factory worth £40,000. The 46-year-old who was cleared of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office at an earlier trial last month was jailed for 27 months after police found 40 plants with an estimated yield of 2kg when they raided his home in Liverpool last year June.
The court heard that the property was found to contain three growing rooms with a street value of the Class B drug between £20,000 and £40,000, depending on how it was sold. David Nuttell exercised his right not to comment when interviewed, but this did not work in his favour. His barrister who was mitigating on his behalf said he did not do well at school and ”was forced to survive on his wits”.
Nuttall, now has a courier service business, though owning a business does not prevent one from selling drugs. The biggest lesson from this story is for those growing cannabis in their home to appreciate the huge risk in getting caught, however secret their plan. Many individuals are jealous people, and some will be quick to inform the authorities of what you are doing. Another thing weed growers usually fail to consider is that all it takes is for the police to come to their home for one reason or another in order to discover their illegal endeavors in the garden. The best thing always is for people to be honest hardworking individuals, and never think you will never get caught since you don’t know tomorrow.
Home grown weed is perceived by many users as relatively safe and natural. but too often is sprayed with all sorts of dangerous chemicals in order to strengthen the buzz and raise the appeal of the drug. Many believe a safer way of smoking safe cannabis is to grow it yourself, but it is also a quicker way of going to prison or having someone plot a robbery.
