Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn has express discomfort with the shoot to kill policy against terrorist similar to what wa sused in Paris. ”I am not happy with the shoot to kill policy in general- I think it is quite dangerous and I think it can be counter-productive, he told the BBC today.
“I think you have to have security that prevents people firing off weapons where you can, there are various degrees of doing things as we know.
“But the idea you end up with a war on the streets is not a good thing. Surely you have to work to try and prevent these things happening, that’s got to be the priority.”
Mr Corbyn also said that if he became Prime Minister he would be wary of authorising military strikes against terror targets overseas.
LEGALITY
Corbyn questioned the legality of the drone attack that killed Mohammed Emwazi-dubbed Jihadi John- Surely if somebody is doing something wrong you act legally against them.
“If we are setting ourselves up as the West, as in accordance with the UN, with international law and of our own laws, then I think we have to act in accordance with them.
“I am awaiting an explanation of where the legal basis was for that incident that went on.”Obviously people planning things to attack others is wrong, but there is a process to go on about that. That is why I am looking for a political process.” The Labour leader also opposes attacks against against Syria and thinks it might make matters worse.
Corbyn is impressive in many ways and surprised the vast majority of the public when he first became leader. He showed great intelligence and wisdom during his first couple of days in Parliament. However the concerns that have were painfully expressed by many in the build up to the labour party elections are staring to look clear Peace is always a good thing, but in the climate we are living in, peace is not always easily achievable. Every country has to defend its security. Corbyn’s stance on security is weak and almost certainly disqualifies him from qualification for the Prime Ministers job. This guy is too peaceful to be a political leader, and has been stated, does not seem to realize the reality of the world we now live in.
