The one thing that could scupper the outcome for brexiters, is the fact that many won’t vote. This fact has quietly been the concern of knowledgeable insiders, since it can’t be helped.
The concern is about the many members of the British public, simply not serious enough to vote. They would rather have an opinion, but drown it away with frivolous thoughts and engagements, whilst the country asks for their voice. These are the Brexiters who won’t vote.
Many will vote, but many more will not. Brexiters that won’t vote perhaps will give away their votes to their opponents. Most working class will want to vote out, but many will be out for the count when the votes are being counted.
Pubs will be full of revelers still drunk from the intrigue and drama of the football EURO 2016, to bother much about the referendum. Their views will be heard, but generally round a table of wine and smoke, with cosy music in the background.
What will matter most, is those who vote, and how the numbers count. The waves are in the favor of the Brexit campaigners, but the Remain group may seize it in default.
Most of the voting public who want in will vote. The same cannot be said of all who want out, though the out group generally outweigh the remain group in reality.
It may boil down to the number of brexiters that don’t vote. It is futile wanting ‘in’ without voting, but most leave voters subconsciously expect Britain to leave the E.U. That’s what the polls suggest, but could a shock result await us?
Unlikely, but possible. The moment of history dawns upon us within 24 hours in this intense and bitter debate that has engaged this country.
