Social Workers Stressed Over Workload and Inefficient IT Systems.

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Social workers in the UK are generally stressed over workload and inefficient systems, a research study has revealed.

Researchers at the center of the research for children and families have highlighted high workload,  inefficient IT systems, lack of a desk to sit on after difficult days dealing with families, as causing stress and disorientation to many social workers across the country.

A high level of uncertainty in a job characterized with uncertainty,  was highlighted as one of the chief reasons workers in social care suffer a lot of stress.

Surprisingly, many social work environments lack efficient IT systems, have no  personal  office desk to work from, and get insufficient time to interact with other social workers.

Further, they are swamped with excess work load and paper work which makes their work very demanding.

The stress from balancing the trauma felt by parents who have to lose their children due to serious family issues and the emotions of the child, is often compounded by the stress of the social worker themselves, the report states.

Social workers play a very important role in society, addressing the vital interests of children in problem families, often requiring court action. Improvement in the working conditions if social workers is very important; and requires urgent attention.
