UK is to be hot by unusually hot weather next week due to a Caribbean heatwave on its way here.
The Caribbean heatwave has created a blast of hot air currently making its way over the Atlantic which will push UK temperatures up to highs of 17C (63F) on Monday.Forecasters say it will be hotter than places like Palma in Majorca, and parts of southern France. The East and South East of England is also set to enjoy the best of the clement weather, with London and parts of East Anglia tipped to enjoy the best of the warmth.
The sudden blast will be a boost for the country, which has endured a cold winter up until now, but also a reminder of how unpredictable the weather can be in the UK. February is supposed to be the coldest month of the year, so a bit of warmth in the middle of a freezing winter can only be a good thing. Parts of Scotland are also expected to be hit plenty of the sunshine, with Aberdeen expected to reach particularly high temperatures.

Parts of Scotland are also expected to be hit with plenty of the sunshine, with Aberdeen expected to reach particularly high temperatures. The early wave will cause a social burst, with lots of early barbecues during the hot spell which could last the whole week before turning cooler by the weekend.
This February has been one of the warmest February’s on record, despite it feeling very cold from time to time. The hottest February before now was in 1998 when temperatures were 19.7c, 67.5F.
The February’s before then were quite cold, especially the early 90’s. The sudden rise in temperature is bound to be met with disappointment when the warm temperature disappears during the weekend. With just two weeks before spring officially starts on March 1, winter is slowly going. March usually produces warm days mixed with cold days- it is an unpredictable month in which the weather produces mixed messages. Mixed messages before April showers, a month often full of rain and some warm weather in spurts.
The previously unforeseen warm weather raises hopes of a very warm summer this year. The question is whether it will be consistent in the summer. For some, it will bring up the issue of climate change, something close to Prince Charles’s heart, though not so much Donald Trump. Perhaps, it is an opportunity for the issues of climate change to be addressed in candid and factual terms. Or perhaps, we should see the issue of climate change as a topic for scientists and politicians to deal with, whilst the common man enjoys the benefits of the weather whenever it is surprisingly warm.
