Tyson Fury Claims To Have Placed £100k Bet For Brother Tommy To Beat Jake Paul

By Shaun Murphy-

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury claims to have placed a £100,000 bet on brother Tommy to knockout Jake Paul in their grudge fight.

The unbeaten world champion did not say with which betting agent he has placed his bet. YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul and Love Island star Fury are scheduled to meet over eight rounds in Saudi Arabia this Sunday after two previous bookings between them have been cancelled. Tyson is confident his brother can get the job done inside the distance despite bookies making him a considerable underdog in the fight.

“Tommy knocks out 90 per cent of people that he spars with or drops them at least, so he’s a very hard puncher and Jake Paul will find that out tomorrow,” Tyson told iFL TV. “I’ve got 100 racks on it for an inside the distance stoppage, so if he loses, then I’ll lose 100 bags as well. I’ve got him at 3-1.

“I know Tommy is going to knock him out. What is a little bit stupid is I see all these experts and professional boxers picking Jake Paul over Tommy. I’m like, ‘What the hell are these guys watching?’, because Tommy will absolutely deck him. I think Tommy can get him out of there whenever really. It’ll definitely be inside the distance and it won’t be a points job for sure. Tommy wins by knockout.”

Paul is Fury’s toughest opponent to date, and the Brit is unbeaten in eight professional fights, with just three of those wins coming by stoppage, whilst Paul has won by knockout in four of his six professional wins.Boxing: Tommy Fury says he could beat KSI and Jake Paul on the same night | Marca

Fury comes into the bout as the underdog as Paul recently defeated mixed martial artist legends Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.

Tyson arrived in time for Thursday’s press conference and told iFL TV: “I’ve got one hundred racks (£100,000) on it, for an inside-the-distance stoppage. So, if he loses, I’ll lose 100 bags as well. I’ve got it at 3-1 odds.”

Speaking to Queensberry Promotions, Fury said: “To be here, getting paid millions of pounds on the world’s biggest stage at 23 [years old], new-born baby, Mrs [Molly-Mae Hague] – he’s got it all going on.

Tyson Fury is still in talks to face  unbeaten Olegsander Usyk for world title unification, but is yet to agree a deal for the clash.

The Sun reported that the world champion is so far refusing to agree to a 50-50 split, as he sees himself as not on equal footing with the former cruiser weight world champion, who now holds the undisputed belts at heavyweight, having beating Anthony Joshua in a split decision last September.

The big fight is reportedly on the verge of being aborted over  the money dispute, but is too big to wither away over financial issues.
