Comedian, Russell Brand will headline a warm up gig at the Hayes theatre in Hillingdon, West London tonight. The gig is a warm up gig for his Australian tour later this year. A spokesperson for the theater told eye of media” we have a good working relationship with Russell Brand’s promoter who represents numerous headline comedians and artists and are often included within their comedy tours as a warm up venue for artists who generally tour to larger venues. Ticket sales and audience reaction have been strong with lots of excitement about the show.
Brand is known for cracking very expensive jokes even at the expense of the Royal family, and stops at nothing to make his views known. Responding to concerns over Brand’s tendency to go below the belt in his jokes, their spokesperson said ” as a touring venue we have no artistic control over creative input into the productions staged here. It is our aim to offer a wide range of production and events for our audiences, the enjoyment of any theatrical event or concert is of course subjective, and it is each customers own preference that would determine whether they attend. We were delighted to have secured this date with Russell for our Hayes audiences and I am sure that his fans who are attending tonight will have a great time”.
Fans audiences always have a great time at Russell Brand’s shows because there are no boundaries to the jokes he cracks. However costly they maybe, there will always be many who see the funny side to them. In fact his audacity to touch areas most find sensitive often form the basis of the fun for the audience. It will be interesting to see how far he goes this evening, but we hope someone close to him would have cautioned him not to go too far. The problem with celebrities in the world these days, is that not many of them have people who will tell them the truth point blank. People are usually scared to offend stars, where as most stars need someone who will give them a reality check.
A documentary on Brand entitled ‘Brand’: ‘A second coming’ which chronicles his life from celebrity to political activist is currently in the works for theatres all over America to be produced by interloper films.
