A man has been charged with the murder of a 30 year old pregnant woman following an Arson in the Southend area.
Unemployed 47 year old Lillo Troisi of Balmoral Road Westcliff has been remanded in custody for killing Khabi Abrey, who died in Southend hospital around 11.15pm on Saturday, May 7. He is charged with murder, arson with intent to endanger life and arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
Khabi Abrey, 30, died in hospital on Monday May 9 following a fire at a block of flats in Balmoral Road, Westcliff, at about 11.15pm on Saturday May 7. A group of locals gathered in front of the Grampian blocks of flats yesterday evening, speechless with disbelief and struck by the senseless murder of a well loved woman, and mother to be.
Her husband, who didn’t want to be named told the eye of media.com ” this is a sad tragedy. She was my world. We were always together, but that night I decided to go out. Her name means ‘radiance’, and she radiated everywhere she went. I can’t begin to imagine why anyone would do this, he said. A big void has been left in my life”.
South African born Abrey, was 8 months pregnant at the time of her untimely death. A beautiful 30 year old with a beaming smile, looking at her picture is heart rendering. The arsonist wickedly set the fire by the emergency exit of the 9th floor where Abrey resided, making escape difficult. The perpetrator was caught on CCTV, obviously too stupid to know the building was covered by CCTV cameras. Emergency services did their best to save her but she choked of the fumes and lost her precious life. Only a stone’s throw away from where the murder of the 30 year old woman happened, lay flowers for another man known as Paddy, who was killed when knocked over by two cars just over a month ago.
One of the men gathered told eye of media.com ”it’s a bit weird how there have been a number of deaths in the area. It makes me wonder why this is”. The eye of media.com recently reported on the death of 54 year old Trevor Cliff, who died of a Cardiac arrest when he collapsed by a Southend car park. He was an alcoholic who drank lots of cider everyday, but was said to be a friendly guy with a good heart. However, his death was self inflicted, sad as it is.
But Abrey was looking forward to the birth of her child and had no dealings with any gangs of any sort. She seems to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, though it remains unclear if this was a targeted attack.
