SURBITON MAN JAILED FOR CRIME SPREE

BY ERIC KING-

Alex Lundy a man who has been jailed for what was described as a ”crime spree” in which he stole £1,000 worth of clothes and vandalized boats at a yacht club.

22 year old Alex Lundy of no fixed address stole a £1,000 worth of clothes  from the Bentalls center  and also  stole a car the same day from Ravenswood close in KIngstill Hill last year. He vandalized boats at the London River Yacht club in Portsmouth Road, Surbiton. He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, one count of aggravated vehicle taking and four counts of criminal damage and one count of shoplifting. He was sentenced to 4 years and 11 months. A prolific offender, he made a career out of stealing and ”was good at it” according to one of his mates who didn’t care for his comments to go on record. An expert thief, he knew how to steal almost anything without immediate detection, but ran out of luck when he was spotted by an off duty police officer, who immediately put an end to his spate of crimes.

A courageous  and notorious criminal, Lundy was said by one of the locals to be full of ‘guts’ with an ambition to earn money by any means necessary. Indeed, not many people can steal £1,000 worth of clothes in one day,but Lundy is an example of determination misdirected. A source told the eye of media.com ” he had his contacts when it came to selling whatever he stole, selling goods was no problem for him. He is good at making deals and doesn’t mess about when it comes to making money. He gets caught less often than not, but ran out of luck this time”.

Car theft is a problem in the capital and no car owner who has ever had a car stolen will appreciate somebody like Mr.Lundy.

Calculated and determined, Lundy is said to possess the ability to get into just about any car he wanted. A demand for stolen cars exists on the back market where buyers buy such cars and sell the body parts to others who then integrate them with other cars to enhance the overall look. Some take the cars as they are, change aspects of it, and ship abroad.

Alex Lundy, who already has a criminal record will probably serve just two and a half years of his sentence, and will be out again. He will either learn his lesson in jail or will continue in is wicked ways of stealing clothes and cars.
