An event hosted by a comedian- Rory Bremmer– has given an award to a refuge run by East Thames housing association at the Lancaster London Hotel last night.
Kirsty Munn, who oversees the refugee told the eye of media.com “we are very proud of the positive outcomes for vulnerable women we have achieved at Beverly Hill House
“Having the recognition that we are leaders in our field and that our approach can be used as a standard to help others achieve the same thing, gives us a lot of satisfaction. This would mean that even more women in need would receive this vital, specialist support.”
Beverley Lewis House is the only UK refuge open to to women with learning difficulties and other special needs like mental health problems, sensory or physical disabilities.]
The awards are designed to credit those UK housing organizations that show creativity, genius and passion. Women with learning disabilities and physical disabilities are very difficult to manage, requiring a lot of tolerance and patience.
The Beverly house refugee also caters for women who have suffered domestic violence and help equip them with the skills to overcome the scars associated with the resulting fears and insecurities.
