Redbridge Council has granted permission to a special needs school to increase its capacity in the face of growing demand.
New Rush Hall school, in Fencepiece Road, Fairlop, is to be expanded from 64 places to 80 after Redbridge Council gave permission for the expansion. The school is a specialist school for children and young people experiencing significant social, emotional, behavioural and/or mental health difficulties.
Since 2014, The number of Redbridge resident pupils with an Education Health And Care plan (EHC) plan has risen by approximately 35 per cent, increasing the demand for more school spaces. All 16 of the created New Rush Hall spaces will be primary spots for younger children from September 1, 2020 to cater for the growing number of residents with an Education Health and Care plan.
