By Joshua Dare-
Teacher, Deborah Lowe, offered herself as a slut to pupils in her school, Minshull Street Court has heard.
The 53 year old teacher is in court accused of having sex with a 15 year old boy. She also paid for his tattoo whilst pretending to be his aunt, had telephone sex with him, and fondled and masturbated him before having sex with the teenage boy on a second occasion.
Minshull Street Court in Manchester heard that the shameless teacher, responsible for pastoral care in the school, also sent a card to the 15-year-old after having sex with him at her house. The jury heard that the dirty card, sent on Lowe’s birthday, was found by the child’s mother, who immediately involved the police.
In the card, she wrote how the blocking had left her a “mess” and asked “Please tell me what I have done. Is it my fat old arse?”. The boy cannot be named for legal reasons. Lowe, who looks a state , may have been trying to compensate for her lost youth, but she has ruined her name and career in the process. She made herself a cheap sex toy for tasteless teenagers in the school, and had the cheek to ask who else she could subject to the victimisation of her low morals.
The card depicted a woman face down in grass with a short skirt on and revealing her knickers.
Lowe, of Elmsbed Caravan Park in Poynton, Cheshire, denies one count of sexual activity with a child and five counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.
Inside the card, she wrote: “I’m a mess. You blocked me and I don’t know what I have done. Who else can I be a sl*t with?
“I would never, ever upset, hurt, harm or make you unhappy. So please tell me what I have done. Is it my fat old arse? It’s my birthday and I’m so sad.”
Lowe, who also worked for Manchester City FC in a match day stewarding role, signed off: “I bloody miss you, love the sl*t.”
PREPARED STATEMENT
Justin Hayhoe, prosecuting, told the jury that after Lowe was arrested she gave a “no comment” interview to police, but gave a prepared statement.
In the statement, she accepted she had been involved in a sexual relationship with the boy, but claimed it started when he was 17 so she was no longer in a position of trust as he had left school.
Mr Hayhoe added: “The issues really are at what point did this relationship commence? At 15, as the boy would say, or 17, as the defendant would say.” Any defendant in a case like this will seek the fastest way out because nobody wants the stigma that accompanies a conviction which could put them on the sex offenders register. A woman of Ms Lowe’s age has no business having sexual relations even with a 17 year old as she claims to have done. Yes, 17 might be above the legal sexual age, but a teacher who is messing with a former pupil of 17 may need a mental check up.
It will be Ms Lowe’s worst nightmare if she really engaged in sexual activity with the boy when he was 15, and it won’t be too difficult for jurors to establish the facts once they hear all the evidence. The case is at its very early stages, and like in all past cases similar to this, it will be the teacher whose name and face will be scarred and ruined for life if found guilty. That’s because teachers are all enough to know better and uphold the law of the land.
