Alarmed parents are reluctant to return their children to the school after the discovery.
One female parent(who insisted on anonymity) contacted through older siblings of some of the pupils told The Eye Of Media.Com: I was horrified to hear than mice was found in their school. It makes me wonder how far this mice might have contaminated food in the kitchen , or what unhygienic practices exists in the school to bring about the mice. This is worrying”. Her 7 year old daughter told The Eye Of Media.Com: ” it was a scary thought, it gave me goose bumps. I never thought I would ever hear of mice in our school. My friends were all put off, and any of them even said they don’t want to eat in the school again. I think I want to only be getting packed lunch to school”.

Bradford Council’s environmental health has attended the school and closed the dinner hall due to mice droppings . Children were provided with sandwiches following the immediate prohibition placed on food can being prepared in the kitchen. Marshfield primary school have faced deep embarrassment over the revelation.

Only last December, Mashfield primary school were given a good Ofsted report, in which the ambitions an aspirations of staff had contributed positively to the academic development of the primary school pupils there.

Victoria Hartford, head teacher at Marshfield Primary School, said: “Mice have been seen in a classroom at the school and we have taken immediate action to ensure they are removed.

“That classroom has been closed and we are working with environmental health to resolve this problem as quickly as we can.

“As an added precaution, we’ve taken the decision to bring in meals from another school rather than prepare food on site.
