Corrupt former FIFA official, Chuck Blazer, 70, struck a deal with prosecutors in the United States when he realized ample evidence had been amassed against him for bribery and corruption by the U.S authorities. Blazer, who pleaded guilty to charges of bribery, money laundering and tax evasion agreed to play an ‘undercover role’ to help in the investigation to expose fifa fraudsters..
Details of that agreement have been permitted to go into the public domain after a judge agreed to a request by five media groups . The document reveals that Blazer, an executive committee member for over 15 years. had pleaded guilty to the offences charged and agreed in a 19 page co-operation agreement to ”furnish to the office all documents and other material that may be relevant to this investigation… and to participate in undercover activities pursuant to the specific instructions of law enforcement agencies
Last month, US prosecutors under the instructions of the Ministry of justice indicted 14 people on charges of racketeering, fraud and money laundering involving tens of millions of dollars over 24 years.
Blazer used bugging devices to bugg meetings with executives at the London 2012 Olympics with a wire device concealed in a key fob.
It goes to show how much dodgy people can’t really trust their pals, because when the heat is turned on, they go behind them and bite hard just to evade the full weight of the law for actions they voluntary participated in. Blazer was a willful participant in his shady deals, but decided to set his mates up just because he had been caught. Had the table been the other way round, he would have been pointing a hand of blame and calling them grasses. However, they all deserved to get punished and exposed and would all have acted in the same way as Blazer had the shoe been on their foot. Shady characters should never be trusted even among their own peers. They have all paid the high price of being so greedy as to dabble in fraud on such a mass scale, now they will get their what they deserve.
The longstanding President of Fifa, Sepp Blatter was compelled to step down following pressure from all quarters. It was later revealed that he himself would be investigated to some degree.
