Britain is preparing to carry out more strikes on Islamic targets in Syria, Iraq and Libya, according to David Cameron. The news comes as the Prime Minister confirmed the killing of a British Jihadist in an RAF air strike in Syria for plotting ”outrageous and barbaric” plots on British soil. Two other alleged terrorists were also killed during the strike
Describing the assassination as a ”new departure” for Britain, David Cameron said Reyaad Khan was last month assassinated in an RAF drone strike after security services uncovered his bid to stage a terror attack in the UK. Skipping the conventional procedure of seeking approval from Parliament, Cameron said the attack was an act of self defense, for which there was a clear legal basis. ”
Two other Isil fighters were killed in the attack on the Syrian city of Raqqa on 21 August. One of them was 26 year old, Ruhal Amin, and the third Briton, was 21 year old Junnaid Hussein killed by a separate US airstrike.
Khan and Hussein were both actively involved in orchestrating a number of plots to attack “high-profile public commemorations” over the summer, the Prime Minister stated
DUTY
“My first duty as Prime Minister is to keep the British people safe,” Mr Cameron told MPs. “That is what I will always do.
“There was a terrorist directing murder on our streets and no other means to stop them. This Government does not for one moment take these decisions lightly.
“But I am not prepared to stand here in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on our streets and have to explain why I did not take the chance to prevent it when I could have done.”
