Amazon is preparing a delivery service for businesses, that could compete directly with UPS, FedEx and less directly with the U.S. Postal Service.
The service, known as “Shipping with Amazon,” is designed to pick up packages from businesses, initially the company’s third-party sellers, and deliver them to customers. The shipping industry is a multi-billion industry Amazon clearly wants to maximize.
Deliveries are expected to begin in Los Angeles in the coming weeks and expand from there.
An Amazon spokeswoman said: “We are always innovating and experimenting on behalf of customers and the businesses that sell and grow on Amazon to create faster lower-cost delivery choices,” an Amazon spokesman said.
In 2016, Amazon spent up to $20 billion in effectively mobilizing its products to its customers. The global giant company is always involved in some innovative marketing strategy that is both lucrative and productive whilst on the other hand nursing some of the bad publicity that has accompanied revelations about employee dissatisfaction. The shipping industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, one Amazon is likely to want to maximize.
Amazon will never tire from expanding its business and marketing ambitions. Its new delivery service is just another step in its endless pursuit for an infinite level of wealth and service provision. It is doing quite well in that respect.
