Channel Seven has announced their plans to air a brand new documentary celebrating the life and career of cricket legend Shane Warne following the icon’s sudden death.
The hour-long special event will premiere on Seven next Wednesday, March 23 on Seven and 7Plus.
The TV event will feature the highs and lows of Australia’s most famous cricketer, who built an extraordinary career both on and off the pitch, and whose untimely death at the age of 52 stunned the world earlier this month.
Warne’s teammates, friends and fans will share their favourite stories and detail the never say die attitude that changed the game of cricket forever.
The documentary will follow the Australian cricketer through his career to his married family life with a wife and three children before a life on the red carpet alongside ex-fiancee Liz Hurley, the film delves into the influences that shaped the sporting legend.
Among those to feature in the upcoming documentary are sports presenter, Mel McLaughlin, actress Magda Szubanski, and singer Dannii Minogue.
The cricketing legend was on holiday in Thailand with three friends, who spent 20 minutes trying to revive him after they were unable to wake him.
He was rushed to the Thai International Hospital by ambulance where he was then pronounced dead.
Shane’s manager, James Erskine, released a statement in the early hours of Saturday morning announcing his death.
Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,’ it read.
An autopsy showed the sports star died of natural causes, with a suspected heart attack believed to be the cause of death. He had been health fasting for 14 days, in a bid to restore his youthful looks.

Shane Warne’s family have called for the South Stand of the Melbourne Cricket Ground to be renamed the Shane Warne Stand.
His middle name ‘Keith’ had previously been to be included in his name, but his family recently requested for its exclusion, instead using just Shane Warne.
The documentary is expected to attract global interest, as the world remembers one of cricket’s most iconic stars of this generation.
