FORMER LIVERPOOL FC OWNER MOORES HOSPITALIZED BY RAIDERS

BY TIM PARSONS

Former Liverpool FC owner, David Moores is still in hospital following attacks by raiders on his home.

The 69 year old suffered leg and head injuries after two masked men assaulted him demanding cash and jewellery and actually stole both cash and jewellery. Police in the area have stepped up patrols since the attack which was most certainly targeted.

DI Marc Nasser said: “We believe this was an isolated, targeted attack and I would like to reassure local residents that we have stepped up patrols in the area.”

Mr Moores was a big player in the football world, and sold the Anfield club to Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett in 2007 after being chairman for 26 years since 1991. Undoubtedly minted, the crooks were tipped off about his possessions by cruel thoughtless individuals.

Set ups are very common in this day and age as people think purely about their own interests. Times are hard for many, but in a country like Britain there is no excuse for anybody not to be able to pay their way legitimately. Unfortunately, despite his expected big bank balance, there has been no mention of any CCTV recording, which really should be in the house of every citizen who can afford it. The crooks got away with an unspecified amount of cash, but police will not give up on finding and bringing them to justice.
