Former President Barack Obama on Wednesday tweeted his support for Justin Trudeau, as he told Canadians that the world needs his progressive leadership.
Obama said mr. Trudeau was hardworking and asked Canadians to re-elect their Prime Minister in Monday’s federal election.
“I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President,” Obama tweeted. “He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change.”
He continued, “The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbours to the north support him for another term, he said”.
Trudeau is the second youngest prime minister after Joe Clark and first to be related to a previous holder of the post- the eldest son of Pierre Trudeau. Born on Christmas day 1971, he is the second child to be born to a prime minister in office.
