Johnson Uk Brexit Deal Very Close But Far From Sealed

By Ben Kerrigan-

A Brexit deal appears to be drawing closer, according several parties involved in talks to seal a historic deal with the EU.

The negotiating teams appear to have agreed to a customs boarder  down the Irish Sea, with optimism of a deal  expressed on both sides of the equation. The deal is expected to be good enough to be accepted by parliament.

Theresa May had rejected the idea as being unacceptable for Britain. Parliament will be expected to agree to a deal that works for all parties, if it is discovered and agreed upon. This parliament has been very unpredictable, but the nature of a deal struck has to be seen first.

A deal struck to place the boarder down the Irish Sea, would still require Northern Ireland to be in the Uk’s customs union to gain the approval of ministers in the Uk and in  Northern Ireland. Some say a deal struck to keep Northern Ireland in the EU customs Union temporarily would make provision for a balanced outcome, but any deal has to be assessed by EU officials at a summit on Thursday before being examined by parliament.

NORTHERN IRELAND

It appears the deal will have Northern Ireland in the EU single market for goods , but  the Uk is yet to tie that proposal with a concrete agreement  from without any major opposition to stretch talks. Those who object to any deal agreed will be seen as the ‘enemies of the people’.

That won’t make a final deal any easier, but may be a sign that a deal that works for the Uk, Northern Ireland, and the EU will be expected to be accepted by the House Of Commons to push Brexit through, unless a major an obviously problematic issue arises. The DUP are opposed to a customs boarder down the middle of The Irish Sea, meaning any deal struck has already considered that, and has a proposed solution for that through concessions or proposals.

An agreed deal will be the first and major step leading to an approved deal, if no major objections arise.

French president, Emmanuel Macron has hinted there may be a need for delay in the October 31 deadline to see the planned deal bear fruit. Uk prime minister, Boris Johnson has been clear for a while that he wants to get the Uk out of the EU by October 31.
