Essex Police Find £60,000 Worth Of Cannabis Plant In Woodfords Flat

By Eric King-

Essex police have  uncovered cannabis worth an estimated £60,000 after raiding  an abandoned flat in Woodford High Road.

Detectives found the drug plants after a tip by a member of the public,  after which they executing a search warrant granted by Barkingside Magistrates’ Court. The factory of about 40 cannabis plants was in the living room and had a street value of about £60,000. Nobody was in the flat at the time of the raid, and the plants were taken and destroyed, officers told the eye of media.com.

Growing cannabis plants to sell is of appeal to  street dealers, many of whom know how to convert the them to cash once matured. A number of cannabis smokers in the Uk grow cannabis plants at home secretly, but are usually turned in by love rivals , estranged partners, or those envious of their illegal plans to make money from selling cannabis whilst they stay on the straight and narrow path.

”Most cannabis growers keep plants in their gardens or somewhere else, a neighbour told the eye of media.com, keeping it in the sitting room is not exactly smart, is it’? Somebody who has seen those plants has reported him to the police, that’s what has happened, she said. At least that fella will not be able to ruin more brain cells out there”, the woman who lived a few doors away said.

Another local man told the eye of media.com ”I don’t think police should bother people who are growing cannabis for personal use. It is in their home, and until they show they are selling it, I don’t see why police should seize the cannabis plant. Cannabis has medical purposes, the guy may just have wanted to have his own medical plant at home ”. With a street value of £60,000, the police are more likely to believe that the resident had the intention to sell the cannabis when fully mature,  and will most likely not entertain his argument.

Cops plan to return to the address later today or Tuesday to further question the resident of the property about the cannabis plants seized, but they will not be looking forward to talking  to police.
