A woman has told The eye of Media of her horror of discovering how a Romanian teenager was used and sexually abused by a couple she ‘trusted with all her heart’. The woman who did not want to be named was used as an interpreter to describe the ordeal faced by an unsuspecting teenager, hoping for a better life in Britain. We will call her Caroline for the purpose of protecting her identity. The Romanian couple in question have been jailed after deceitfully luring the teenager from a Romanian village to Britain on pretentious claims that she was to become a paid babysitter in the UK. Andrea Ciubotariu , 26 approached the woman in the summer of 2013 and brought her to Britain in December that year before her 31 year old husband drove her to a hotel where he raped her. He told her she would have to work as a prostitute and lied that he worked with the police so nobody will help her if she made any report. The rapist then took her victim a brothel where she was forced to have sex with a number of men and then collected her the next day and took her to another Brothell in Burnt Oak where she was repeatedly forced into sex with men there too.
The Romanian couple were stupid enough to allow her access to her mobile phone, so the oppressed victim eventually made contact with her Uncle via Facebook who passed her details unto a friend to provide shelter for his niece and remove her from the clutches of the evil Romanian couple. After a meeting with the victim’s Uncle friend, she was introduced to a Romanian woman, ‘Caroline’ in her local church who could speak Romanian, and she explained the horror that had befallen her. Officers from the Met’s Trafficking and Kidnap Unit were subsequently called and the Romanian couple were arrested and charged.
Carole explains ” the girl was shaken, disorientated, she cried as she explained to be in Romanian what had happened to her. She was told she would b a baby sitter and get paid a lot of money. The money will transform her life and her family’s life too. They said baby sitter’s are on high demand and once she shows how good she is she will get a recommendation that will raise her demands among rich people who employ baby sitters. They told her they had a lot of contacts and knew many rich people who will adore her and trust her with their kids. They will speak well of her and she could even have more money than a lot of people struggling in Britain. This could really be her ticket to success and a breakthrough and she would be celebrated whenever she visits Romania. They explained how as an EU member, she can live in Britain as long as she wants and earn good money”.
” Most people in Romania see Britain as a path to a better life, and this young girl believed she had it all in hands. Women should always be careful with people who promise them fantastic things. There might even be British females who are promised fantastic trips abroad, they should not always believe golden promises from men to take them abroad. They is usually a hidden agenda. She explained how the young teenager’s dream turned into a nightmare as the married man subjected her to rape and forced her to do all kinds of sexual acts on her. Caroline explained that because her attacker was married and he had met him with her wife,, she ruled out any possibility of foul play as a secret agenda for the irresistable proposal.
She continued ” he forced her to have sex with multiple men and satisfy all their sexual desires. It was a horrible experience.
Marius Ciubotariu was convicted of rape, human trafficking and controlling prostitution. His wife was found guilty if aiding and abetting rape. Marius was sentenced to 15 year imprisonment, whilst his wife was sentenced to 9 year imprisonment.
Detective Constable Richard Hart, investigating officer, said: “The Ciubotarius’ lured the victim to the UK with promises of a babysitting job, but they had plotted all along to use and abuse her.
“This innocent young woman who was looking for a job opportunity has had her life ruined but I hope that she will find some small comfort in knowing that her abusers are now behind bars.”
Last Friday, Marius was jailed for 15 years and Andreea for nine.
