An aspiring singer from Wembley who missed out on the BBC’s The Voice UK final will face his biggest live crowd in Glastonbury singing with Lily Allen’s father.
Vikesh Champaneri, of Linden Avenue, made it to the semi-final of BBC 1’s singing talent competition on Saturday but didn’t make the final as the public could only vote for four of the eight contestants to battle it out this weekend.

19-year Old Champeneri told Eye of Media: “ The experience was bittersweet because everyone wants to be in the final and win but only one person can actually do that. The four who made it through were amazing and I wish them all the best.”
It was a very fierce competition, but relief came at the end because all the tension was finally over “ We are good friends but competition always breeds some tension. He has now been told that he will be able to sing with Keith Allen at the Glastonbury festival in June. alongside Keith Allen, the father of Lily Allen

“I’ can’t lie, I am scared, physically scared, scared stiff. It’s going to be my biggest audience yet. It’s going to be amazing.”
“The stand out thing for me was going to see Usher in concert and getting to meet Usher and sing to him. I have always wanted to meet Usher but never dreamt that I actually will. I have been telling everyone that someone in my thoughts was listening to my thoughts. It is going to be actually amazing sharing a platform with all these talented people who will be there”

Kanye West is set to headline the festival despite close to a hundred petitions calling for his exclusion from the festival. Champeneri refused to be drawn into the controversy surrounding Kanye West, except to say ” it is up to the organisers who they allow take part. I am just glad to be given an opportunity to take part in this celebrated event in Glastonbury. I’ll give it my all”
