Thousands of Vodafone customers in Australia have been unable to make calls or text after the phone network suffered a massive outage.
Australian users reported several problems with data, text and calls, many of them unable to reach Vodafone itself to report the issues.
‘No phone, no data, nothing! I can’t even reach you guys via a land line. When will it be fixed?,’ one unsatisfied customer posted on social media.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Frustrated customers took to social media on Sunday night to express their deep anger over the disappointing failure of the global network provider. A number of customers reported being without service for up to four hours. And on Sunday night, the situation has unfortunately not been rectified. A statement from Vodafone read:
”We are aware of an issue which is causing intermittent disruption to voice, data, and text services for some customers,’ Vodafone posted on its Facebook and Twitter.
”We’re working to resolve this ASAP as our top priority. We don’t have an ETA at this time but will keep you updated. We’re very sorry about the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.”
Considering the number of customers of the mobile network home, problems of this nature is simply disappointing and unacceptable. If other networks are able to keep their services ongoing without the sort of interruption and inconvenience affecting Australian customers, here is no reason why the network should be operating at any less standard.
WORLDWIDE
Vodafone has countless customers world wide, involving individuals from all over the globe. Unless Vodafone sort out this mess and prevent a recurrence, they will risk their reputation plummeting low, and lose customers to other networks. Vodafone, like other mobile networks, contract millions of customers to an annual agreement which they cannot ordinarily get out. Such contracts equally require that network providers like Vodafone play their role in maintaining a smooth flow of services. Customers have no time for excuses.
