Tyson Fury has been warned by the boxing authorities to stay clear of none boxing controversial comments after his offensive remarks last year about homosexuals and women.
The 27 year old gypsy who outpointed long reigning former champion, Wladimir Klitschko last November, inadvertently caused up to 140,000 signatures calling for his exclusion from the annual sports personality of the year award, but was nevertheless granted inclusion for the event.
The British Boxing Board of Control revealed after their meeting on Tuesday evening that loud mouthed Fury will face no punishment from the British Boxing B for his controversial remarks relating to women and homosexuals but he has been reminded of his “heavy responsibilities”.
Fury who dethroned Klitschko became public enemy no 1 when he expressed offensive and condescending remarks claiming that a woman’s role is in the kitchen, and then drawing comparisons between homosexuals and Pedophiles in the context of the devil. The BBC said he had a right to freedom of expression.
A statement read: “Tyson Fury has made comments in the media that have caused offense to members of our society. However, there is no suggestion that he has broken the law by exercising his right to freedom of expression”. Fury, who apologized for his comments, is currently top draw in the heavyweight scene but has publicly said he will never fight David Haye, who recently achieved a 30 second demolition of little know Mark de Mori at the 02 two weekends ago. Fury’s reason is because of Haye’s double withdrawal from their scheduled contest a few year back when the latter was injured with a shoulder injury.
Unfortunately for outspoken Tyson Fury, he looks destined to be one of the most unpopular heavyweight champion of all times, with his stupid antics and comments to the effect of avoiding boxers even if they were in a mandatory position. If he really believes he can beat Haye then he should be looking for an opportunity to teach him a lesson, not try and avoid him by giving excuses. A rematch with Wladimir Klitschko takes place sometime this year, but fans now really want to see him against American WBC champion, Deontey Wilder, then probably Haye. Klitschko has always been regarded as an effective technician with a tedious style. He is now considered old, boring, and finished. The big gypsy lump called Tyson Fury will only be respected when he faces live world class opposition like Wilder, Haye or any of the Americans in the top 10. Fury opted to vacate the IBF belt early this year instead of face mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glasgov who eventually lost to Charles Martin, the current IBF heavyweight champion. Klitschko had all three belts, whilst Fury only has two of the belts. He still has a lot to prove before he can really be considered as the best.
