Trump Refuses To Bow To King Jung Un Sanctions Compromise

By Aaron Miller-

Donald Trump refused to bow to pressures from King Jung Un to abandon U.S imposed sanctions in exchange for denuclearization.

The North Korean leader tied to strike a deal with the U.S president, but Trump remained adamant there would be no compromise.  Denuclearization essentially requires no compromise to achieve its end, but it could be a question of whether a balance should be struck between the consequence of compromise against the gain of denuclearisation.

According to Bloomberg, Trump believed it was best to call off the Hanoi talks rather than agree to a deal that wouldn’t work for the U.S.

“[W]e couldn’t do that,” Trump said of Kim’s request. North Korean state news agency KNCA’s report Friday offered an upbeat takeaway of the meeting, saying both leaders walked away with a deeper commitment to forging ties between the two historically hostile nations. According to Reuters, Kim said Trump had made “active efforts towards results” and that he regarded the summit talks as “productive”. Trump is on a mission to compel North Korea to denuclearize the Korean peninsula as quickly as possible, but has so far been confronted with opposition at every stage. Meanwhile at home , the recent statements and declarations he made in relation to his time with Trump, alongside the documents he released, will await the U.S president on his return home.

Trump has so far survived every attack that has been thrown his way, but the pressure keeps mounting, and his seeming war with outside forces have not relented.
