By Aaron Miller-
Donald Trump inadvertently degraded African Americans When he made an appeal for their votes on Saturday.
Speaking at a rally in Dimondale, Michigan, the controversial presidential candidate said-
“Tonight, I am asking for the vote of every single African American citizen in this country who wants to see a better future”, he stated.
“What do you have to lose by trying something new? you are living in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 per cent of your youth is Unemployed, what do you have to lose ?”
Trump went ahead to foolishly boast that he will get over 95 percent of the African American vote.
“At the end of four years, I guarantee you I will get over 95 percent of the African vote, I promise you.”
Polls suggest African Americans generally favor Clinton far more than Trump, who most of them view rightly or wrongly as a racist.
And even if he actually is no racist, his tone and choice of words were inadvertently degrading, boarding on being condescending.
It smacks of an alarmingly degree of recklessness to label, and invariably degrade all African Americans as living in poverty or attending poor schools.
A good question is whether this Billionaire actually has advisers, or just operates off the whims of his own thoughts and feelings.
Trump accused Clinton of “bigotry, claiming she sees African Americans “ only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future. Donald Trump may be subliminally reflecting his own Outlook on African Americans.
