The Failure Of Gun Control Is Still The Cancer Of The United States

By Isabelle Wilson-

Gun control has for decades been the cancer of the United States and multiple homocides executed by guns has brought laws no closer to solving the gun problem in America

The impacts of the Revolutionary War has led the United States has historically approved of gun ownership as a way to protect Americans’ lives. The Second Amendment to the constitution even decrees that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The never-ending spate of murders in the U.S caused by guns provides ample evidence to support laws to restrict gun access. Against this perspective is the realistic fact that Americans in large numbers will always find a way to own a gun; a frightening reality that sparks uproar among lobbyist of gun ownership who consider proposals to control gun access as insanity.

Residents of foreign countries observing the fickle and transient nature of life in America, and the ease with which lives are needlessly taken can be forgiven for concluding the leaders of America have lost their marbles. Year after year for decades, innocent lives have been mercilessly lost due to the inescapable reality that guns easily get into the wrong hands.

Multiple protests and complaints over the years have had limited effect on the status quo. As new governments replace the old, all have failed to successfully address a problem that effectively squeezes out the greatness of America. The senseless killings of children in schools, innocent bystanders in the wrong place and the wrong time, only causes the topic to resurface, but with no solutions in sight.

A U.S. citizen or permanent resident with no history of mental illness or serious crime can purchase guns that are not military ammunition in many states with little restriction. (Semi-automatic guns are legal.)

Large gun companies such as Colt and Remington and other gun-advocating groups like the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.) continue to promote the idea of easy access to guns , provided they maintain that their weapons are purchased for hunting or leisure shooting.

The official stated purpose of obtaining a gun is as senseess as expecting a murderer to admit guilt without any feeling of compulsion like evidence of overwhelming evidence against him or her.

The enacting of laws in each state is predominantly at odds with those of other states or at the federal level, meaning a gun that was legally bought in a state with anti-federal opinions and loose gun control laws may be illegal in a state more in favor of federalist gun control.

A federal government law-imposed against guns would automatically lead to a severe violation of sovereignty.

Statistics reveal that only about 5% of the guns used in crime are legally purchased and has sparked controversy over the effectiveness of regulations on guns sold.

The National Firearms Act (N.F.A.) has regulated explosives, light firearms, muzzles, silencers, and so on, and until the law expired in 2004, political agreements were made banning “military-style” weapons on a state-by-state basis.

The dangers of a gun are obvious. It can kill many people at high speed so long as the shooter has decent range, vision, and basic shooting skills. The focus of the gun control debate is whether it is necessary to allow the general public to possess this ability to kill.

Most Americans are united  n the view that individuals have a need to defend themselves from criminals or other security threats – often represented by bears in American political discourse – and most agree on the N.F.A. regulations which already exist.

The gun control debate is not just between complete deregulation and complete regulation, but between the middle forces, whether to add or remove regulation.
