The terrorist slashing of a French Priest by two terrorists has been described by Theresa May as ‘sickening’.
Two terrorists stormed a Catholic church in France and forced the priest to his knees, before slitting his throat and filming it. The 86-year-old priest is said to be a well-known quiet man who was liked, and whose murder has left the community in shock. A nun who witnessed the horrifying killing ran out of the building whilst the slaughter was being prepared by the pair of terrorists.
French police eventually surrounded the Church and shot both men dead. The French prime Minister, Francois Hollande called it a Barbaric act and vowed to seek the perpetrators of the crime. Terrorist killings are becoming very widespread in Europe, and indeed the world, with atrocious murder in France being the second in just 12 days. Only recently, we had the killing in Germany We must not forget the horrifying killing in Miami by the crazy lone wolf who targeted a gay club and took out. All were quite sickening too, but this was had all the hallmarks of rage and severe callousness.
The truth about many of these terrorists is that they are suicidal people who are emotionless, and also have a grievance with foreign policy. They are nevertheless disaffected morons with no sense of humanity in them. Not even the worst of aggrieved human beings would target an 86-year-old helpless man, and slaughter him so openly to the point of sickening humiliation. Terrorists of today are taking their war to the streets of the world in a more pervasive way, and a ready to die for their twisted course.
They claim to be Muslims, but Muslims don’t accept them as their own. This doesn’t stop the bad name it gives Islam, neither does it help quench the fire of islamophobia spreading in many parts of Europe. Decent citizens know the world has extreme individuals who are prepared to commit unthinkable crimes. They have been brainwashed to believe a reward awaits them in an afterlife; a view that no rational thinking being would entertain for a moment.
A priest was chosen deliberately since a priest is some form of representation of a church. A church is seen as the opposite of Islam, so these militants are waging what they see as a religious war, rooted in their perception of whatever war or conflict they are responding to. However, this was an act too wicked by any standards. It highlights the urgency for the world to be at a heightened level of security everywhere.
