Suspected Paedphile Remanded In Jail For Attempting Child Sex Offences

A suspected paedophile who allegedly tried to arrange to commit a child sex offence in Barrow has been remanded after a court appearance.

Ian William Strickland, 42, of Barrow, appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today charged with attempt to arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offence. He was immediately remanded by Magistrates for his horrifying crimes. The decision to remand Strickland it at wide odds with that taken to bail Paedophile Stewart Sargent for a whole year, just three doors away from where he lived with three young children. It will add to the Eye of Media.Com’s case studies, as to how various agents of the law implement different measures when dealing with paedophiles.

The alleged offence came to light after a ‘sting’ by paedophile hunters Dark Light on Monday night.

Officers were called at 6.57pm on Monday night after members of the Dark Light group confronted a Barrow man in Wordsworth Street. Not long after police attended, a downstairs window of a house in Wordsworth Street was smashed. After it emerged that the house belonged to a man unconnected with the earlier incident or the police investigation.

In a post on Facebook, Dark Light said: “Cumbria police released a statement on their page after the incident identifying the street.

“For those involved in smashing the windows of this house, you got the wrong house, you morons.

“An innocent man has been targeted and this we feel is a direct result of Cumbria police giving the street name where the sting took place.

“Dark Light highlight offenders and expose them whilst doing everything to ensure innocent people are protected.”

Police issued out a stern warning to members of the public against vigilante attacks and said they would seek to prosecute anyone deemed to have committed a criminal offence. Earlier today, The Eye Of Media.Com heard from our contacts at Liverpool, how a gay paedophile caught with “deeply disturbing” pictures of six-year-old boys today walked free from Liverpool Crown Court.

28-year-old Robert Trigg compiled a sickening collection of child sex abuse images and used sophisticated software to try and cover his tracks. The 28-year-old paedophile’s crimes came to the attention of police after the National Crime Agency tipped off Merseyside Police about a photo shared online.
The photos, including one video, were all of the boys aged between six and 14-years-old.

However, despite Trigg admitting three counts of downloading and one count of possessing indecent images of children, he was let off. The judge said that because he suffered in coming to terms with his own sexuality, and suffered bouts f depression and isolation, he would hand Trigg a three-year community order, with a 60-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work. Recorder Rhind also told him to sign on the Sex Offenders Register and to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
