How Sam Allardyce’s Greed Cost Him England Job

By Tim Parsons-

Sam Allardyce was in his dream job, something not many people can say.  He was on well over 3m pounds a year, with plenty of bonuses.

On the strength of the financial facts, this man should have been on top of the world! The 400,000 pound floated to him by under cover journalists from the Daily Telegraph, should not have been enough to tempt him.

However,  he fell for the bait. Allardyce should have known that undercover operations happen, the man wasn’t born yesterday. The problem was sheer greed! Simply that.

Having found himself in one of the most prestigious and financially rewarding jobs in sports, the disgraced former boss should not have been so stupid to show his greedy side.

Allardyce has called it entrapment, but in reality, the Telegraph simply brought out the greed they suspected was hiding undetected in the former England boss.

Football has long been in a rot when it comes to money scandals.  It was only last year when several football kingpins were exposed for money laundering.

Now, we have the man at the pinnacle of the game caught red handed, dabbling in deceptive plans for the sake of money. How shameful that he has contributed to bringing the sport to disrepute.

Then we have the manager of both Queens Park Rangers and Leeds, also caught giving in to greed and showing their willingness to flout the rules, just like Allardyce.

Football definitely needs better policing to save the game from total loss of integrity. Those managing the sport are extraordinarily corrupt, and desperately need to be regulated.
