A shamefully racist and evil councillor who used his Facebook page to call for Theresa May to be hanged for “treason” has resigned with immediate effect. Richard Alderman’s resignation was received by Rutland County Council this week.
The disgraced councillor called for the Prime Minster’s public hanging just three days after being elected to Rutland County Council. He posted other grossly offensive messages about shadow home secretary Diane Abbott and Tory MP Anna Soubry in 2018. In relation to Ms Abbott, the Shadow Home Secretary, he called her ”a monkey”. He said ”The monkey is out of her tree again, send it to the animal labs”.
The 72-year-old was spared jail in October at Birmingham Magistrates Court after admitting four criminal charges.Alderman, of Oakham, was given a six-month community order and was ordered to wear a tag. His conviction leaves an eternal stain on his reputation, one that will follow him to his grave.
Alderman was reported to the police after another councillor took screenshots of the messages. The 72-year-old admitted four charges of sending a menacing or grossly offensive message via the public communication network. He also admitted calling Shadow Home Secretary, Diane Abbott, a ”monkey” ,and calling for Ms Soubry to be shot and drowned.
A council statement said: “His seat as a ward member for Oakham South West will remain vacant until May 2019, as a by-election cannot be called within six months of scheduled local government elections (due to take place in Rutland on 2 May 2019).
“The outcome of complaints about Councillor Alderman made to Rutland County Council under its code of conduct will be reported to the council’s next standards committee.”
