Prince William and Prince Harry have today issued a joint statement denying that the reason the Dutch and Dutchess Of Sussex have decided to step down from the royal duties is because of ‘bullying claims’.
The pair said the speculation about their relationship was “offensive” and “potentially harmful”. The strong statement was released this morning by Buckingham Palace – just hours before crunch talks at Sandringham.
It said on behalf of the brothers: “Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between The Duke of Sussex and The Duke of Cambridge.
“For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.”
The Sussexes are said to be frustrated by ‘constantly being told their place’ over the last two years, The Times is said to have quoted a couple that knows the pair well. They are said to have felt ‘tethered’ and that the Cambridges’ had been competitive and decided from the outset, ‘We are going to tell these people their place and we are going to push them away.’
However, sources close to both the Cambridges and Sussexes strongly contested the claims that the couple feel ousted by Prince William. Last October, Prince Harry said newspaper editors had on occasions deliberately misrepresented facts and published them.
In March, 2019, The Eye Of Media.Com exposed The Daily Express Online after one of their writers published false quotes from a relationship expert about the two brothers and ignored complaints she made about the distortion.
