OKLAHOMA VOTERS CALL FOR IMPEACHMENT OF OBAMA

BY AARON MILLER

Oklahoma Law makers have introduced legislation calling for the impeachment following his administration’s support for trans gender bathrooms. In a separate bill, calls for a declaration of emergency in the state.

Oklahoma is a deeply religious state that pays little attention to the equality rights of minority groups of gays and trans genders, and take very seriously laws that support these groups.

In a measure called Senate Concurrent Resolution 43, Oklahoma law makers accused the Obama administration of exceeding its authority by issuing a directive last week stating that U.S schools risk losing federal funding if they don’t allow trans gender students to use the bathroom of their choice. According to the measure, the order “clearly and unequivocally exceeds the authority of the federal government.”

The measure also calls on U.S House representatives from Oklahoma “to file articles of impeachment against the President of the United States, the Attorney General of the United States, the Secretary of Education, and any other federal official liable to impeachment who has exceeded his or her constitutional authority.”

Oklahoma Law makers claim the Constitution does not authorize the executive branch to dictate the running of public school systems on the workings of their restrooms or shower facilities.

Law makers here are mistaken because any issue related to discrimination falls within the remit of the government, and calls for them to act. Their call for the impeachment of the President is likely to fall on deaf ears, making it a wonder why the fuss is being made about this. State representative, John Bennet, said it was Biblically wrong, forgetting that the laws of the land are not base don biblical principles, but rather on general equal treatment of all citizens. In a statement, Bennett said:

“Our phones and emails are being flooded by citizens who are enraged by this president’s attempt to use our children as pawns in a liberal agenda,” he said in a statement. “This directive is biblically wrong, a violation of our state’s sovereignty and it is a serious public safety issue. … We are going to do everything we can to protect our women and children.”

The legislation of Oklahoma being introduced by Oklahoma Law makers is likely to impress the religious citizens of Oklahoma, but have no effect in changing anything.
