Norfolk Cop Dismissed For Cheating Landowner Of 15,000

A Norfolk policeman has been dismissed after cheating a treasurer of his share of treasure discovered in his field.

David Cockke was employed to use his metal detector to search for any evidence of treasure on his field.

The officer agreed to a 50-50 split of the proceeds of anything he found. However, when he found a haul of historical gold coins, he made profit from selling them without sharing the profits with the land owner.
The deceptive move by the officer has been rebuked as unacceptable , and a dismal considered the only possible action in response to his shameful actions.

Officers are expected to be way above board as enforcers of the law. Whenever they fail to uphold the law they represent as enforcing agents, they become a shame to their profession.
