Single cabinet minister, Michael Gove, flaunted his dancing moves on the dance floor at an Aberdeen night club over the weekend, letting his hair down .The UK politician, who is in the process of a divorce with his wife, Sarah Vine, showed up at the Bohemia nightclub where he showed how much of a mover he can be. Footage of his moves circulated on the internet on Sunday. His hands flailed wildly, and occasionally swung in time to the music, in the clip filmed by a fellow clubber.
The 54-year-old cabinet minister, who grew up in Aberdeen, was on a trip to see family when he apparently walked into O’Neill’s bar at 1.15am.
After last orders were called, Gove was invited by revellers to join them upstairs at the club Bohemia, where he reportedly stayed until at least 2.30am.
Adam Taylor, the manager of Pipe, told the Daily Record newspaper that Gove, who had been drinking downstairs, tried to walk past him without paying the entry fee, but some other witnesses denied the politician had attempt to club free of charge.
In the videos, Gove, dressed in a suit with no tie, can be seen jumping and waving his arms around to the music, like one having full fun.
Gove has been officially single ever since he was kicked to the curb by his former wife and mother of his children, Sarah Vine, who indicated in a Daily Mail article that her husband may have been too busy with politics to spend enough time with his family. Vine said politicians sometimes get too caught up in self importance , they need someone to bring them back to earth.
His divorce must be the most serious thing in his life at present, although observers say the deterioration in his relationship with Sarah Vine was long known to close friends and those in certain media circles, given the fact Sarah Vine writes for The Daily Mail , and is also regularly featured in The Daily Express-especially when expressing her strongly held views on royal matters.
Now single, we can assume that Gove who is in a highly paid job with the government, needs someone to mingle with. That’s if he hasn’t already got one whom he is keeping out of the public gaze.
The stress of a divorce wasn’t apparent as he was dancing, though the decision to hit the dance floor may well easily have been a way of shaking of the psychological stress of the publicised divorce, or a way to signal his readiness to move on to all the single ladies watching.
A divorce is always a stressfull experience , especially as most marriages that end up in divorce once enjoyed good times.
Michael Gove is smart and experienced enough to know that his moves on the dance floor would be eventually publicised, given his high profile status, and the fact he was being filmed.
The 54 year old would also not want to spark a romance with someone within the circles of Westminster , given the potential complications s that could cause.
Gove’s dancing was debated on today’s Good Morning Britain programme, with some guests suggesting that a separate night club should be established for the over 40’s.
Singer and reality TV star Tallia Storm was critical of Gove’s showing saying that she wouldn’t want to see her dad or his friends dancing in a club.
She said she loves seeing people “living their best lives”, she added that doesn’t mean she wants to go into a club and see old people “cutting some shapes.”
She said: “I think the £5 entry fee, the £2 shots can be left to us youngsters and you guys have many more options to head to.”
Joining the debate was broadcaster Tony Blackburn, who rubbished the comment from Storm, by saying the suggestion about whether over-40s should be banned from nightclubs is ‘ridiculous’.

Tony went on to argue that many DJs in clubbing hotspot Ibiza are well over that age.”Do you stop them performing? It’s ridiculous,” he added before revealing he was 60 when he first went to the party Island.
“With all due respect, someone of 22-years-old, you’ve only got 18 years left so you better get on with it,” Tony commented.
Night clubs are generally attended by teenagers and youngsters in their 20’s and early 30’s, but there are older people who still frequent night clubs before nightclubs were shut down during the lockdown. Revellers in their 50’s are often scarce in nightclubs, but there are no laws prohibiting individuals of any age from attending nightclubs.
Michael Gove danced impressively for a man his age, and showed that even politicians can have some swagger.
