Melanie Trump, a wife of the very controversial Donald Trump, has been accused of stealing some of her speech from Michelle Obama.

In a deeply embarrassing allegation, what was supposed to be keynote speech to highlight the 46-year-old former model, turned into an absolute disaster because of the striking  resemblance between her speech and that of the current first lady in 2008.

Melania Trump received a round of applause for the speech which she claimed to have written herself. However, either she or someone who wrote the speech on her behalf copied Mrs Obama.

Since she insists she wrote the speech herself,  it makes sense to assume she did the copying. Let’s examine both speeches.

Mrs Melanie Trump (2016): “From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life,  that your word is your bond and you do what you say”.

Mrs Obama(2008):” Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is bond”.

“We want all our children,  and all children in this nation to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach if your dreams and your willingness to work for them”.

Mrs Trump:  ” We want all your children in this nation to know that the only limits to your achievements are the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them”.

Tommy Vietor, a former national security spokesman for President Obama later claimed on twitter that the similarity was ” pretty egregious”, adding that “I doubt Melanie intended to plagiarise, but her speech writer has some explaining to do”. Obama’s former security was obviously trying to play safe.r

Well, if we take Melanie ‘s words that she wrote the speech herself, then it is a logical conclusion that the speech was plagiarised. The uncanny similarity is too much to be coincidental, most worrying is why she did not compose an original speech of her own.
